NOTIMETOTALK…EATING!

We couldn’t wait to get our little mitts on this recipe – how insanely delicious does it look? We’ve noticed more and more restaurants and cool bars opening up with “American” themed food – the gravy, slaw, hot dogs, and of course FRIED CHICKEN! So when we stumbled across this gem, we knew it was going to be an absolute winner.

What you’ll need…
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tsp baking soda
  • flour
  • 1 lb of chicken wings, or chicken breast
  • vegetable oil for frying

How to…
  1. In a bowl mix the buttermilk, eggs, paprika, hot sauce, salt and pepper. In another bowl, combine the baking powder and baking soda, and then whisk into the buttermilk until it becomes foamy.
  2. In a shallow dish put about 2 cups of flour alongside the buttermilk mixture.
  3. First dredge the chicken in the flour on all sides, then dip into the buttermilk mixture and make sure it’s coated well all around. Dredge the chicken in flour one more time, then place the chicken on a plate, and repeat with all chicken pieces.
  4. Pop some oil in a pan and let it heat up nice and hot. It’s better if you don’t overcrowd the pan, so avoid putting too many pieces in at once.
  5. Place cooked chicken on some paper towel to drain and sprinkle with some salt.
