Unbearably cute!
At The Party People, we L.O.V.E balloons! They are our specialty and our favourite decoration – and it’s not hard to understand why. They add so much flair to a party with real impact. There are infinity things you can do with balloons and this little gem is just one of many ideas.
As a DIY, you could recreate this for a baby shower, or kids birthday party.

What you’ll need…
- Polar Bear & Penguin Templates (see below for link)
- Black & White Balloons
- Helium
- Double-sided sticky tape
- Scissors
- Twine or ribbon
How to… (PENGUIN)
Print our the penguin template using lightweight paper. If the paper is too heavy, it simply wont bend into shape properly. Cut out the penguin’s face, flippers and cutie patootie feet.
Next, blow up the balloon. Try to get through the first set without trying the helium! (Mission Impossible).
Tie the balloon off & add twine or your string/ribbon of choice, then tape the string to a table or other work surface so that the balloon stays at your eye level and doesn’t try to float away while you add the face!
Put double-stick tape on the back of the penguin face. Stick the face in the center of the balloon. Eyeballing it is fine – don’t worry about being super precise.
Add the flippers to each side of the balloon.
Add the feet towards the bottom of the balloon, again using double-stick tape and bending them slightly upward to add dimension.
How to… (POLAR BEAR)
Repeat all steps with the Polar Bear template!
A good tip is to fold the ears as shown below to create flaps at the bottom, then add a strip of double-stick tape to the flaps.
